Tips For A Safe Night Out

If you are looking to go out with your friends in the future, it’s always a good idea to be well prepared. Dr Kalia has given us some of the most essential safety tips that you will want to utilize to ensure that you and all of your friends can have a safe and fun night out together.

Stay Together

There is always safety in numbers. This is true for children and adults. When you are going out with your girlfriends, you’ll want to stay close. Stick together when you are out at night. This includes when you are at the subway station and even when you are in a nightclub. Using a buddy system is easily one of the best ways to keep everyone in the group safe. You want to walk together in the parking lot and ensure that everyone gets home safely.

If there is going to be alcohol involved, everyone should know who the designated driver is. Someone needs to abstain from drinking that night so everyone can get home safely. While it may not be the ideal “job,” someone has to do it. This can also help to ensure that no one in the group gets taken advantage of because they are intoxicated.

Pay Attention

This is true even if you aren’t going out at night. If someone is causing you to get “creep vibes,” it’s best to remove yourself from the situation. You always want to trust your instincts. Look around whenever you go somewhere. You can generally tell whether or not things feel right. Women have good intuition. Use it to your advantage. If things don’t look and/or feel right, get out of there. Don’t give out personal details to strangers and pay attention to what’s going on around you.

Guard Your Drinks

Whenever you are out with your friends, it’s best to pay attention to your drinks. While drinking can be fun and harmless, there are people out there who will try to take advantage of you. It’s not uncommon to have people slipping drugs into the drinks of unsuspecting women. You can see near and far mobile bars. But always monitor your drinks and never accept a drink that you didn’t see being poured.

If someone is aiming to buy you a drink, ensure that the bartender has control over the drink at all times. Only accept drinks that get handed to you directly by the bartender him/herself.

Know The Signs Of Being Drugged

There are plenty of drugs out there that can be used against you. Some drugs are specifically known as “date rape drugs.” These are drugs that can reduce your inhibitions and lead to sedation when taken in sufficient quantities. These are the drugs that can be slipped into your drink without you even knowing it. There are ways to tell if your drink has been spiked. Some of the best ways to tell are by looking to see if your drink has excessive bubbles. Another would be if your drink has a cloudy appearance. There’s generally no taste difference, so you’ll need to use visual cues to tell.

If you think that you have been drugged, it’s best to head to a hospital directly. If you are with someone, have them dial 911 for you. Try to get someone that you trust to take you to the hospital. The majority of these drugs will leave your system in less than 72 hours. You want to get tested early to ensure that you know what happened.

Drink Responsibly

When you are going out with your friends, try not to get wasted. You don’t want to get too intoxicated. A good way to keep yourself from getting too drunk is by filling your stomach with food before you go out. If you drink on an empty stomach, you will get drunker quicker. Try to drink a glass of water between your drinks to keep yourself well hydrated and to avoid a hangover the next morning.

Watch Out For Social Media

It’s best to avoid posting where you are going to be on social media. You never know who is looking. You also don’t know who can see what you post. It’s best to post after the fact. If you post your location on social media, you are inviting people to find you without even knowing it.
